Imagine twisting through perfectly carved roads in the midst of amazing mountains and beautiful valleys. Bask in relaxing natural hot pools. Marvel at the legendary roads of Tzumerka and Zagorachoria regions and tackle two of Greece’s most renowned mountains passes. And that’s just the beginning! Our itinerary also includes rafting in one of Europe’s clearest rivers, visiting the historic Meteora monestaries, and riding around the legendary Olympus. So, what are you waiting for? This is our unique FLEX tour by design. As a Guided or Self-Guided tour, with difficulty parameters that can be adjusted on the fly by the group. more riding? less km? more stops? choose your way.
Start/End
We recommend not to spend time getting to north of Greece from Athens. We will start and end our tour from Thessaloniki. Collecting the motorcycles and riding away from "day 0".
Distance
Total of 1000-1200 km tour, Flexible for changes. average of ~200 km per day, the magic number in which your buttocks will not rebel, and your energy levels will be kept high enough to explore POI along the route.
Duration
6 days of riding. start & finish days are also a riding days! no time wasted. With a flex flights schedule - It is possible to frame the whole vacation in only 6 days. Or you can plan staying an evening or two in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki.
Roads type
Road quality vary from L2 to L3. Avoiding highways on the majority of the distance. 100% paved "Greece grade". Some parts can be damaged after heavy rain season.
Skills
The base tour plan require advanced riding skills. Check our index here. Some roads will required extra attention and control, with some amount of hairpins But route is flexible by design and can be adjusted to fit the group riding level.
Buttocks Power
Bronze Ass badge will be enough here. most days are between 4-6 hours of saddle time. Do not be fooled by short days of low km count. The northern roads are extra twisty and the riding time grows with the curve count.
Motorcycles
It is recommended to have at least 500 cc motorcycle for this route. Although even a decent executive scooter of 300 cc can join and enjoy it. We also recommend riding light. And in case a riding pillion joins you - 650 cc and up is preferable.
Accommodation
North Greece is known for its traditional hotels and guesthouses. Many are comfy and have home-like feeling but lack the modern touch. We hand picked the exceptional places, the ones that will let us relax and enjoy in the end of each riding day.

We will start the day relaxed, shopping for any missing riding equipment, Eating at Ladadika, only then we will start heading north-west on secondary roads, getting to know our new motorcycles.
Our destination for today is Pozar, where we will have hot bath in natural pools and having a (second) welcome dinner in a testy local restaurant.

Today we have a relaxed riding in rural roads, in the direction of Kastoria, a beautiful city on a lake. We will stop on the way to support the bear sanctuary and for coffee on the lake front in Kastoria. Before sunset we will make some dron videos in Kotilli pass, were we will stay for the night and have our special local dishes dinner.

We will start our day riding in amazing road leading us to Zagorachoria region. We will still be in Greece, although the road will feel like Romania.
We will stop in Papingo for a water refresh rafting, which will follow with local lunch break.
If we are not slow, we will catch a coffee in front of Vikos Gorge and get to Ioannina through the back roads before dark, to enjoy the lively city.

Don't be fool by the low KM we are going to ride. We are going to have a full and challenging ride.
We will drive trough Tzoumerka region, with its known curvy roads and amazing view. We will stop in the special Kipinas monestary, refresh in the nearby waterfalls and then we will go UP, through Baros pass, were we will have some beautiful pictures and drone video. From there, we will CROSS north, on less used roads - up to Metsovo, were we will spend the night.

Today we have a smile roads and joy location ahead of us. We will start by crossing the beautiful Katara pass, down to Kalabaka direction, to see and amazed by the beauty of Meteora monasteries.
We will not call it a day before riding in some more beautiful rural roads and circling around the Olympos,, Having traditional dinner and continue to the sea front in Katerini, where we will stay the night.

We are not taking the last riding day relaxing too early! We will find powers to make yet another pass, the Seli pass, while stoping on the way in a beautiful and important archiological musem , and having wine testing and lunch in a special local farm. Only then we will find our rural roads heading back to the big city of Thessaloniki, to return the motorcycles and catch our flight back home with many memories till next tour!
